Welcome to Armadale: Inside Our First Boutique

This month, Country Road opened the doors to its first ever boutique, located on High Street Armadale.

Redefining the luxury store experience, the space is designed to mimic the comfort of home in an intimate, lounge-like setting. Country Road collaborated with a number of local and international designers to bring the boutique to life, with concept design by London-based agency PAD, lighting by Ambience and furniture by In Good Company.

Here, we offer a glimpse inside the boutique, and take a closer look at the many features that make it special.

Feels like home

A soft, tonal colour palette was chosen to reflect the beauty of the Australian landscape, while natural timber features and curved ceiling ribbons combine to create a gentle, welcoming experience that invites you further into the store.

Every store fixture and detail has been custom-designed and detailed, with bespoke joinery made locally in Melbourne. Curved metal hanging rails sit in front of backlit wall panels to create a soft haloed effect, while floating shelves are used to highlight decorative homewares and women’s accessories.

In the centre of the space, an oak table acts as an anchor, and plays off the soft curves of the ceiling feature and surrounding fixtures. Towards the rear, the boutique’s fitting room is a place to relax, with a dedicated coffee machine for customers to enjoy while they browse.

A world-class experience

Adding to the premium retail experience, select Armadale team members will be trained as accredited stylists through a partnership with the Australian Style Institute. The boutique will house a curated edit of Country Road’s womenswear and accessories collections, with staff able to order additional styles on behalf of customers.

Finally, as night falls outside, a bold lighting display highlights the boutique in warm hues of gold, orange and red, designed to replicate the magic of an Australian sunset.
