Tell us a little about you. What does a day in your life look like?
As a stylist and creative consultant, no day for me is the same which I have grown to love. Each week is fresh and exciting, working on multiple projects at a time. Whether it’s styling campaigns or photoshoots, concepting and creative directing briefs, meetings with clients and photographers, workshops with my agency or even attending showroom appointments, the variety keeps my work interesting and motivating.
Pairing a structured blazer over free-flowing garments is a great way to break up a silhouette. An easy and effortless approach to feel sleek and polished, while comfortable and unrestricted. I always love to go a size up with my blazers or jackets, while an open-toe shoe complements the outfit and keeps it light.
Describe your personal style—are there particular designs you are drawn to?
I’ve always loved oversized pieces and have been drawn to masculine tailoring, along with core vintage treasures I’ve collected over the years from my mum, baba and resale sites. Forever evolving, I’ve progressed from an all-black wardrobe, incorporating colour, print and even sparkle for joy. From a young age, I’ve always had a soft spot for ‘off-duty model’ style, effortlessly cool and easily put together somehow.
When it comes to building a summer wardrobe, what do you look for?
A summer wardrobe should feel lightweight, with free and ease of movement, essentially breaking the shackles of the heaviness and layers of winter. It’s summer, be uninhibited! Linens, natural fibres, free-flowing silhouettes, neutral staples to pair with anything (colour, print, texture), items to throw on over your swimwear at the beach or after at a bar.
What are some ways to maximise the longevity of your pieces and curate a wardrobe that lives beyond the season?
Invest in quality pieces and fabrics you can wear time and time again. When it comes to wearing core staples on rotation, it’s all about your styling and approach; layering or de-layering in new and exciting ways, respective to the season you’re in. Look after and truly care for your garments, repair them, and wear them again and again, know how your clothing was made and where it came from. Your approach should be intuitive, to wear what makes you feel good, if you’re not having fun with it, then what’s the point?
